b. Unpacking the Dish
When you open up the DataStorm box, you will have 3 major items:
End of section
1. The DataStorm, screwed down to the wooden planks under the cardboard box.
2.
The DirecWay modem box
3. Everything Else (boxed up).
To remove the DataStorm from the crate, use a screw gun to unscrew the screws
that hold the flat aluminum plate to the planks under the cardboard box. There are
4 to 6 screws that hold the DataStorm securely in place.
The
DirecWay modems (IRU and ITU) with cabling come in their own box. All
necessary cabling and power supply is included.

The
DataStorm Controller.
Two 30 foot lengths of RG-6 coax
cable. Only one side of this cable
will have connectors on them and they
should be used for the OUTSIDE
connections.
Cut to length after pulling inside. Install coax connectors supplied..
RG-6 connectors...
compression type.
Make sure to use the tool
provided you from training to
crimp these connectors onto the coax cable.
Clam Shell
This is used to cover the hole
you'll make on top of the
vehicle. The cables come
on the open side of the
clam shell.
Two short lengths of RG-6
cables.
AC to DC power supply (12-15 volt 2-8 amp) to the DataStorm Controller.
9 Pin connector that you will
attach to the end of the 9 pin
control cable (see above).
Control
cable from the DataStorm
controller to the dish on the roof.

A metal sign that is to be placed
on any ladders that provides access to the roof of the vehicle.
